My Working Holiday

Working holiday info and tips from a working holidaymaker

Travel

Believe it or not, working in a bar/hostel/care home is NOT the major drawcard when it comes to a working holiday and for the most part, low-paid unskilled jobs are just stepping stones to affording travel around the country you’re in, or those nearby.  You may be lucky and find a job that’ll take you a few steps higher on the career ladder, but if not, keep your eye on the prize, and work hard to play hard.

So, if like me you’re hoping to still have a few pounds/euros/dollars left when you end up back at home, budget travel is the way to go.  In the last couple of years I’ve spent hours and hours and hours glued to my computer trying to find the best options when it comes to transport, accommodation, tours and destinations, so I’ll put anything and everything that might be useful to fellow working holidaymakers up here.
