My Working Holiday

Working holiday info and tips from a working holidaymaker

Visa Eligibility

Are you an Australian, New Zealand, Canadian, American, Irish or British citizen between the ages of 18 and 30?  Then you are probably eligible for  working holiday visas in at least a few other countries than your own…  Sure, you can always turn up somewhere for a ‘holiday’ and get yourself an under-the-table job, but it’s really not worth the risk of getting a permanent black mark on your record if you get caught.

So first things first, where are you allowed to go?

American: Australia, New Zealand.

Irish*: Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, Japan, New Zealand.

British*: Australia, Japan, New Zealand.

*As EU member states, Irish and British citizens are also entitled to live and work in all other EU countries.

For (fairly) up-to-date entry requirements see http://www.workingholiday.info or the Embassy website for the country you are interested in.
